Significantly, Portugal has invested in protecting the coastline and countryside in areas with heavy footfall. Moreover, you will see many wooden boardwalks as walking trails. Enjoy three main boardwalks in the locality of Carvoeiro:

Firstly, Carvoeiro:- Algar Seco to the chapel. It follows the cliffs, gives you access to the rock formation, and has two seating areas to walk the sunset. Furthermore, it is lit at night if you fancy a late-night stroll.

Secondly, Praia Grande – Salgados – Gale:- Follows the nature reserve lagoon and has unique birdwatching platforms (For more severe Twitchers)

Thirdly, Alvor: This is probably the longest, with multiple routes, and is just south of the main village and the marina area. The walkway takes you on a circular to the east of Alvor, around the nature reserve, with exits to the beach.
